Mama Mia's Pizzeria is locally owned and operated by Brian Lurie. Brian grew up in Memphis, went to Riverdale Elementary and CBHS. His sister Jill takes care of the catering, birthday parties and whatnot. Jill also went to Riverdale and then Ridgeway for high school.
Brian's brother, Jason, takes care of all printing of coupons, book keeping, accounting, email lists, payroll and taxes. Jason also went to CBHS and currently manages Ark Roofing in Memphis.
Brian's family all lives in Memphis except for Jill. She lives in Murfressboro, TN. But Brian's brother lives in Cordova, Dad in Germantown and Mom in Collierville. Everyone in the family is involved in helping Mama Mia's succeed.
As for the pizza...we use only the freshest and finest ingredients around. Our produce is delivered twice a week straight from Easy Way Wholesale. We use all fresh peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, lettuce and roma tomatoes. Our chicken is fresh boneless chicken that we slow roast overnight in a crock pot and cook in a lightly seasoned butter sauce. Our cheese is a whole milk mozzarella that we buy in 50-pound blocks and shred by hand daily.
The meatballs and beef are cooked daily and made from scratch, and all of our meats are hand sliced daily. The dough is made several times a day and usually rises for three days in our coolers before we use it. This provides a taste that is like no other! We only prep enough food to make it through the day! Every morning we prepare all of the food that will be used for that day only.
